Six short guides that follow the studio in order: the wardrobe, the shoot, the contact sheet, the house style, the team and the plan. Each one takes a few minutes.
Add garments to the wardrobe
Every shoot pulls pieces from the wardrobe, so the pieces come first.
- Open Wardrobe and choose Add garments. Drop a batch of photos or pick them from your files: PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF or HEIC, under 20 MB each. A photo on a hanger, flat, on a mannequin or on a person all work.
- Wait for the review. Each photo becomes a card while Shotward identifies the garment, suggests a name and a type, and reads the view: Front, Back, Side or Detail. Tap the view badge to change it.
- Tidy the cards. Tick two or more cards that show the same piece and combine them as one garment; split a photo into its own garment if it was grouped by mistake; remove anything you do not want.
- Choose Add garments to wardrobe. Nothing is saved until you approve, and each photo then becomes a studio shot of the piece. Close-ups stay as they are.
- Open a garment later to rename it, change its type, add photos or make another photo the cover. The first photo is the cover and the shoot reference.
What to expect. The pieces sit in the wardrobe with their views in order, front first, and show Preparing until their studio shots are ready.
Plan a shoot
A shoot is a purpose, a rail of garments and a call sheet the stylist fills in.
- Choose Create and answer the first question: what is the shoot for? Social media, Product page or Lookbook. Campaign is coming next. The purpose sets the shot list, the frame and the kind of location.
- Pull the pieces for this shoot from the rail: tick up to twenty garments from the wardrobe, or add new ones and come back with them selected. Then choose Plan my shoot.
- Read the call sheet. The stylist styles the pieces into looks and lays them out as storyboard cards, each with a location and a model wearing a look. Give the shoot a name at the top.
- Change any card. Tap a shot to change its model, look or location; add a person for a Together shot on social media and lookbook shoots (up to four in a frame); add a shot of your own or take one out.
- Check the line under the cards: the number of photographs and how many of your credits they cost. One credit per photograph. If the balance is short, Add credits before you start.
- Choose Start the shoot. You can also start from the wardrobe: Plan a shoot, tick the garments, then Shoot these.
What to expect. The shoot appears in Projects and starts developing straight away; you can leave the page and come back when it wraps.
Review the contact sheet and download
Frames arrive grouped by look, with the garments, cast and location beside them.
- Open the shoot from Projects. By look shows every frame beside the look it belongs to, its model and its location; a Developing line counts the frames still on their way.
- Open a frame to see it large. Use the arrow keys or the strip below to move through the shoot, zoom in to check the detail, and switch on References to see the garments, model and location it was made from.
- Download a single frame with Download photograph, from the frame view.
- Download the whole shoot with Download all in the header: a ZIP with every finished photograph, named by look, shot and model in shooting order.
- Share opens a public link to the finished photographs. Switch it on to let anyone with the link view the shoot; switch it off to make the link stop working. Viewers never see garment photos, the call sheet, credits or your team.
What to expect. A frame that did not develop is marked as such and its credit is returned; the rest of the shoot is unaffected.
Set your house style
The house style is remembered from the shoots you start, so the next drop begins where the last one left off.
- Plan a shoot for the purpose you want to set: product page, social media or lookbook. Each purpose keeps its own location and frame.
- On the call sheet, set the model and the location on the first card, and choose the frame for the shoot.
- Start the shoot. The first card's model becomes the lead model, and with its location and the frame it is saved as the house style for that purpose.
- Plan the next shoot for the same purpose: the call sheet opens with the same lead model, location and frame, and the stylist styles the new pieces around them.
- To change the house style, change those cards on any later shoot and start it; the latest shoot is the one remembered.
What to expect. The lead model carries across every purpose; the location and the frame are kept per purpose, so a clean studio for the product page does not change the lookbook.
Invite your team
A workspace is shared: the wardrobe, the shoots and the credits are the team's.
- Open Account & Billing from the avatar menu and go to Team. The workspace owner can invite teammates.
- Choose Invite teammate, enter up to five work email addresses and send. Each address is listed as Invited until it is accepted.
- Ask each teammate to open the invitation email, sign in with the invited address and accept. They land in Projects with the shared wardrobe and shoots.
- Remove a member or revoke an invitation from the same list at any time.
What to expect. Everyone in the workspace can add garments, plan shoots and download frames; the subscription is managed by the owner.
Manage plan and credits
One credit per photograph, said the same way everywhere.
- Open Account & Billing. The Plan section shows your plan, how many credits are left of the total, and when the current billing period ends.
- The free trial is 15 credits, one five-look product-page shoot, and does not renew. Choose Change Plan to see Pro and Advanced, monthly or yearly, with a choice of credit allowance.
- On a paid plan, the owner can open Manage subscription to change or cancel the plan in the billing portal. The plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Watch the call sheet before every shoot: it shows the photographs and the credits they cost, and a frame that does not develop returns its credit.
What to expect. Unused credits roll over while the subscription is active; each renewal adds its credits to the balance.
