AI Output & Content Policy

What you upload

You must own, or have all necessary rights and permissions to use, every garment, product, logo, trade mark, pattern, photograph and other material you upload or describe. That includes rights from photographers, designers and brands where their work appears in your images.

Do not upload images of real, identifiable people unless you have their informed consent for this use, such as a model release that covers AI editing and generation. Never upload images of anyone under 18.

Uploaded images have their embedded metadata removed when stored. Content is processed as described in our Privacy Policy, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Synthetic casting

The models in the Shotward casting library are synthetic, fictional adults created with AI. They are not real people, and any resemblance to a real person is unintended. Do not present them as real individuals, customers or brand ambassadors, and do not use them to depict or imply a real person.

Ownership of outputs

We claim no ownership of the images and videos generated for you. To the extent we hold any rights in an output, we assign them to you, subject to our Terms of Service. Casting models, setting photographs, movement references and presets remain ours, and you may use them as part of your outputs.

Whether and how intellectual property rights arise in AI-generated material depends on the law in each country and may be uncertain. Your outputs may also resemble outputs created for other users, and we cannot guarantee that you will have exclusive rights in them.

Accuracy and your review

AI-generated results can be inaccurate. Outputs may change or invent garment details such as colour, print alignment, logos, text, seams, fastenings, fabric texture and fit, and may contain errors in anatomy, including hands, faces and proportions. A generated image does not show how a garment will actually fit any particular person.

You are responsible for reviewing every output against the real product before you publish or use it, and for making sure it does not mislead customers. This is especially important for product pages and advertising, where UK consumer protection law requires product information to be accurate.

Disclosing AI-generated imagery

You are responsible for disclosing that images or videos are AI-generated wherever that is required, for example by advertising codes such as the UK CAP Code, marketplace and social media platform rules, or laws that apply in the countries where you publish.

Uses that are not allowed

You must not use Shotward or its outputs for deception, deepfakes, impersonation, sexual content, content involving minors, or infringement of anyone’s rights. The full list is in our Acceptable Use Policy.

Content removal and suspension

We may remove content, block generations or suspend accounts where we reasonably believe content breaches this policy or the law, or where we receive a valid complaint. Where appropriate, we will tell you and give you a chance to respond.

Reporting infringing content

If you believe content on Shotward infringes your rights or includes you without consent, email support@shotward.com with your contact details, a description of the rights concerned, where the content appears, and a statement that the information in your report is accurate. We will review reports promptly.
